Music Video

Creative direction, cinematography, and editing for music videos from concept to final cut.

I lead every stage of the process, often taking on multiple roles: Director, Director of Photography, and Editor to ensure a cohesive look, feel, and narrative. My hands-on, collaborative approach is shaped by the artist’s vision and the emotional tone of their work, with a focus on creating impactful visuals aligned with their identity.

These videos showcase six projects featuring musicians with whom I’ve collaborated multiple times through the years.

Electrosexual

“(how to) Change Your Mind” (2021)

Roles: Director, Director of Photography, Editor

This award-winning video presents a psychedelic, visually immersive journey that explores themes of introspection and transformation. Created during the 2021 lockdown, the piece integrates cutting-edge visual effects and synaesthetic imagery to evoke a psychedelic, therapeutic experience aligned with Electrosexual’s signature sound and aesthetic.

Winner: Best Music Video category at the 2021 Singapore International Short Film Festival.

Daan van Kampenhout

“Birthing Ancestors” (2018)
Roles: Director, Director of Photography, Editor

A visual counterpoint to Daan van Kampenhout’s ritual drumming and singing, the video guides the viewer into a meditative, introspective state. The pacing and editing reflect the rhythm of ritual itself, with stillness interspersed with subtle motion. This structure creates space for a deeper, embodied connection to ancestral presence.

Shot on a full-frame Sony A7s using time-lapse and hyperlapse photography and edited in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Ruby

“Barricades” (2014)
Roles: Director, Director of Photography, Editor

Lead singer Lesley Rankine’s dark, hypnotic voice unwinds and unfolds over a minimal, shadow-drenched highway at night. Fleeting glimpses of trucks, road signs, and headlights emerge from the darkness, evoking a quiet tension between exposure and concealment. It is an atmospheric journey through long, twisting emotional roads.

Shot exclusively over an iPhone 5s across highways in northern and middle Scotland and mixed with old 8mm film material. This video was part of a larger collaboration with the band that included music videos and backdrops for live performances while on tour.

Billie Ray Martin (The Opiates)

“Oprah’s Book of the Monh Club (Part II)” (2012)
Roles: Director, Art Director, Editor

The haunting vocals of Billie Ray Martin (known from acid house prioneers S’express and Electribe 101 as well as a successful international solo career) anchor this piece, evoking interwoven, fragmented memories. The visuals embrace softness and blur, mirroring emotional disorientation as past and present dissolve into one another.

As part of a larger collaboration with the band over their “Hollywood Under the Knife” and its follow-up “Hollywood Cuts (remixes)” albums. My videos were commissioned to be the backdrop on a giant screen for thier international tours and later released as music videos.
